What are the options for downloading OSTI.GOV MARC records?
There are five options for downloading records at http://www.osti.gov/MARC/
- Subject Category: Select from a drop down menu of OSTI subject categories. Selecting a category will tell how many records are currently available for the category. Subject categories maybe limited by publication date and DOE National Laboratory.
- Publication Year: Select records by publication year. The total number of records for the year or years selected will be reported before downloading.
- DOE National Laboratory: Select the laboratory from a drop down menu and choose to receive records for that laboratory based on searching a specific metadata field(s) – author, research organization, sponsor, or subject. The total number of records for the Laboratory selected will be reported before downloading. Records may also be limited by publication date or additional subject categories.
- Individual Records: Use this option for downloading records for specific titles. Enter the OSTI ID numbers separated by commas. The OSTI ID number can be found by searching the title in OSTI.GOV.
- Archive Zip File: Download all MARC records in a zip file. The All Records Archive Zip File is generated quarterly. This file is much quicker to download than choosing to download all years. The date the zip file was created is listed next to the download link.
