Open Archives Initiative (OAI)

Harvest OAI-PMH records (XML format) for U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) research and development reports.

OSTI has established an OAI (Open Archives Initiative) server (see OAI Repository Manual) to allow harvesting of metadata for full-text DOE research and development reports contained in OSTI.GOV.  Included are reports in physics, chemistry, materials, biology, environmental sciences, energy technologies, engineering, computer and information science, renewable energy, and other topics.  These reports are produced by DOE, the DOE national laboratories, and DOE contractors and grantees primarily from 1991 forward. Additional legacy documents are included as they become available in electronic format.

As an OAI data provider, OSTI exposes structured metadata via OAI-PMH to service providers who can harvest the metadata.  Additional information on the OAI may be found at the Open Archives Initiative website.  If you have questions about the OSTI OAI server, contact OAIrecords@osti.gov.
